~*Depression*~

Pictures of my former self
Remain upon the broken shelf
In the album we once shared
When we both cared
Hollow memories,broken pieces of me
Shadows haunting of what used to be
I sit in my solitude
Soul bared nude
Quietly contemplating
Memories intimidating
As they shake me from my reverie
Stark naked reality
Of a time I once loved
In a box memories are shoved
Grey colors my eyes these days
Now a stupor nothing can phase
A painted picture of loneliness
Not knowing forgiveness
Cradled in my despair

If only I could care

Author notes

my take on the picture reminded me of someone in a deep depression.

Oh depression is a great take on this painting. It sure looks depressing in many ways. You have penned a lovely entry for my contest with wonderful rhyme.

    one little typo though:

Now a stupor nothing can faze "faze" should be phase.

Plenty of time to fix before the contest ends.

It is truly hard to care when one is suffering from depression. I am so pleased you have entered this piece in my contest. Best of luck in the judging. ~Pamela

Oh how I know the depression well myself. I've been there. =o) Thank you for the spelling catch. Got it changed. Thanks Pam
