Life At Its Best

Beside the waters of tranquility,
Amid the colorful Lupine flowers.
I listen to Bluebird and Chickadee,
As they sing for many hours.

Upon the cool, lush, green grass,
I watch some  small animals play.
A Cottontail rabbit moves in a flash,
As a squirrel stretches on a limb to lay.

A cool breeze lightly brushes my cheek,
As the Sun slowly sets in the west.
Before night all creatures, for shelter, seek,
And I experienced life at its best.

Very vivid visuals shared in these lines - like the lupins, chickadees and rabbits you mention here. Life at its best indeed. Easy to read and understand what you write about in the poem, even without seeing the picture. Wish you well in the contest.
