the powers out
there is a hole in the roof
and the drops drip in
fill a tea cup
picked for its beauty and craftsmanship
but it doesn't hold much
there is another centimeter wide waterfall
falling into a tea cup on the piano
two more for the center of the room
on top of the coffee table
one for my desk and journals
and another for the piano now
and a look around the room
one would think it was raining on a tea party
I smile to myself at the thought and drink a lukewarm beer
surrounded by six tea cups and no friends
Author notes
more simple than anything else really

Humour at its best!
Winner after winner I am finding!! Certainly another! (I am glad I do not have to judge this!!) I am very glad too, that I continued reading these and commenting! The high quality makes it so easy to comment.
The humour begins with the discordant view of the first (beautiful) teacup catching drips. It snowballs with the listing of all the places catching water, piling it higher, visually clear! Already funny due to the incongruity of teacups that do not overflow, but there's more to come! The finesse of an accomplished writer!
The set-up, looking around at all the teacups, associating with a teaparty... The pause of a non sequitur, waiting for the other shoe to fall, while the warm beer distracts,
and then:
Dénouement: the final three words!
Masterly!!
Thank you so much!
