heat
shimmers
vibrates
in the distance
insects buzz
self- important
with mysterious
missions
geese
glide by
graceful
feathered ships
patrolling the harbor
where sweat trickles
between my breasts
and thighs
a fevered breeze
caresses
woos
seduces
heat radiates
from the dock
warmly
welcomes
my repose
bakes
my backside
where it connects
to the wood
eyes close
against the sun
white
bright
light dapples
vague
silhouettes play
tease
my lids
legs dangle
wilted
flaccid
limp
feet plunge
submerge
disappear
toes dance
cavort
frolic
in cool, clear water
find relief
from heat
Author notes
As I sat on the dock, I felt the connection! It's always there. I just have to get still enough to feel it.
Please tell me what you think

I love this!!! It is just so full of wonderful wording and images. The flow is nice, even. And I like how you have connected the simple things together - and done so well in describing them!
Too many lines in this that I like to list them all!

heat waves
holy micro vines when the sun melts our vision...this piece seems to flitter like heat waves off of pavement, out in the distance, away from the cool confines of molecular hemmoraging, dock squatting, and otter pop sucking... plug in and turn on!

I could visulize trying to cool off
I was able to visualizing a woman trying to cool off from the summers blistering heat. What a woderful way to keep cool. I had no problem in understanding the content of the poem. A great write!.
