Brochures here and brochures there
My patience is wearing thin!
Trying to make our minds up
Between Majorca and Berlin,
Then someone says Marbella
Someone else Madrid
I don't think I can cope any more
And I almost flip my lid,
'We can always hire a caravan'
My mum ventures to suggest
'Two weeks stay in Blackpool'
Brings a scream from all the rest,
We carry on scouring brochures
Leaflets, books and more
Flicking pages over
Until our thumbs are sore,
'No I don't like cottages'
'And caravans are bad'
'Will you all stop yelling'
'This holiday's driving me mad',
Two whole weeks of arguing
Sniping and whining galore
Dad and grandma bickering
Before we even get out of the door!,
Brothers and sisters all fussing
Who's having which room when we're there
Sophie starts slapping her brother
This holidays driving me spare,
I cannot believe I did this
They've chosen to go to Rome
I'll get plenty of relaxation
Because I am staying at home!
