Love isn't in flowery words
Nor the pretty pictures
they paint

But in text messages
and eyes so sweet
that photos leave
your heartbeat faint.

Angel, love is in staying
up late
to see what comes next

And in
getting up early
to answer new texts,

Falling for each new
idiosyncrasy, it's just
you and me


Trying to figure out
What this could be,
If it could morph
into an us, a we.

And yet I know
that your deep,
endless eyes
could be meant
for another

But through my
own, plain janes
I see
Worlds that continue
on into forever,
that remind me

to think of the
happiest things,
because having you?
is just like having wings.

Talking to you is like
falling through a
looking glass and
traveling through
Wonderland,
Arms outstretched,
I know
you'll take my hand.

Be my unbridled joy,
My uninhibited
        Lost
          Boy,

Tiger Lily has a
few tricks still
up her sleeve,
And it just seems
it'd be silly to simply
up an d leave
without knowing
how earnestly
we've tried.

It's time for this
romantic
to steal a break
as 2:20AM is much too late
for a poet to stay
So read this poem
and feel my soul
ache,
