yesterday
flowers skipped over mountaintops
burning with magical colour
like runaway chinese lanterns
but knife-thief fingers are gunfire
and mud-murder hands are swift;
dew-blood dries and
petals huddle hostage
like chalk drawings wrapped in plastic
between tar-buckled book covers.

I loved the aliteration and imagery here. There is a wonderful contrast between nature and a crime scene. A very unique take and style on the prompt. Thank you for entering
