The Crow of Courage

coo
coo
goes the crow
as he raises his wings
lifts his voice and sings
And the heads careen
out of a window of greed

Who is this crow
He shall not speak
Easily his words
have displeased me

coo
coo
He pleads
On his birdish
gawky knees
while he tries
Tries to plead

But as a coo
escapes his beak
His quiet grows more weak
And then he breaks down and weeps
coo coo
I am me
coo coo
born what I was born to be
coo coo
may I speak
and break the chains
with which
you caught my mind
from the front
back
and the side
I'm sorry sir
I shall not lie
I am
a soldier
of the world
I let my mighty words unfurl
fiercest soldier that I am
That I may grow to give a hand
