Ah ! Black and white,
soul, separating skin from bone
in streams of night,
where wind finds stone
in wearing abrasion,
far from shore
as wilder waves of stimulation,
craving kiss to find its season
in feathered snow,
and frozen reason.
I have been too far from love,
my center dry,
craving wash from wind, above,
to flower sky,
in flying weather,
and simple touch
of two together,
this skeleton of plastic connection,
misunderstanding,
misdirection,
seeking whisper in my ear,
that place where words escape my lips,
away from sedimentary fear,
where breeze
is billowed hips
moving urge
to surge, and purge,
every want, returning flower
to softer scent,
breathing blush
in strength to simple, pulsing power,
releasing rush,
in sultry shower.

Amazing! I can feel longing, loneliness, emptiness, melancholy, and passion all at the same time in this piece--no easy feat considering the conflicted nature of many of these emotions. Truly great job! Good luck in the contest!

GASP! Amazing. So articulate with rhyme that bends the rules of magic. This piece is oustanding. Truly the type of poetry I am looking for in this contest. You have stepped outside of the box and made this your own. Impressive work. Simply impressive. ~Pamela

"misunderstanding,

This is such a beautiful poem, for this picture prompt, you see so many things...I love those last two lines too
