These thin metal rails,
Pounded through a thousand nights
Of click and clack
Of metal words
Striking out for moon-soon thoughts
I know there is a point of connection
Somewhere off in the distance
Where a lone howl of wolf
Waits for morning to relieve wait

A pleasuable poetic representation of the picture!
The Lunar Express!
Wolf howling at the moon, or waiting to board?
Beautiful, Scribe.

ah, simply waiting for the echo to be heard, my friend.

The old Missouri and Pacific tracks are not far from my house. What do they mean in the 21st century in North America? "Moon-soon thoughts?" I think not. These tracks belong to something very shabby. I cannot put my finger on it but it might be something that merits "a lone howl of a wolf."

The metallic ring meant death to the way of the wolves' way of living. A few horsemen and explorers coudl to do what carload os trained homesteaders ever could.
and thank you for your comment, sir.

Amazing poem! It fits perfectly with the photo! Although there are only two stanzas, it's a powerful poem. Keep up the good work, and good luck in the contest!

ty for applauding my shortness...usually I ramble and ramble and cirle and circle around a subject. Like a wolf trying to decide which way to have its bed.
