Morning mist rolling off mountains,
The Great Smoking Mountains.
Light shimmers through
golds reds yellows and oranges,
one of God's many wonders.
Song birds fill the air,
dew sparkles on the lawn.
Cabin porch, nice and cool,
is where I sit to enjoy
all the splendor.
Horses whinny in the pen
ready to romp through
glittering sunrise
filling the skies.
I love the magic
sunrise brings
to mountains majesty.

This reminds me of some of the sunrises I have myself seen while visiting Cherokee, NC. My cabin porch of course would have been a motel balcony, but all the same it was a wonderful and majestic sight to watch. You have expressed so well the sights, sounds, and feelings one gets from this experience. Thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest.
