The fastest mouse in Mexico,
Speedy Gonzalez is his name.
Whenever meeces wanted cheese,
they called on Speedy and he came.
Señor Gato guarded the cheese,
he thought he was slyer than sly.
That didn't stop little Speedy;
getting the cheese, off he would fly.
Taunting ol Gato constantly,
"andale arriba!", he'd say.
El Gato I will get the cheese,
because to me this is child's play.
The meeces planned a fiesta;
music, dancing and cheese galore.
Señor Gato heard the ruckus
and pounced right upon the dance floor.
While everyone else ran off;
Speedy said Señor Gato, please.
You can't catch Speedy Gonzalez
and you know I will get the cheese!

Amera, Thank you for the applauses and your lovely words of praise that you gave to me for this one. You most certainly have my permission to post it at work. I love Speedy Gonzalez, so this was a very fun one to write. And learning to make these backgrounds to go with them is even better. LOL Now I need to figure out how to get my background over to Word when I copy the poem there so that I can print them out with the backgrounds attached.

Make sure you are in Internet Explorer. Go to the 'Tools' pull-down menu across the top of the screen, and then select 'Internet options'.
A dialogue box will pop up. Select the 'Advanced' tab and scroll down to the printing options, indicated by a printer symbol.
To print the background items, make sure the 'Print background colours and images' box is checked. Alternatively if you don't want to print the background items make sure the box is unchecked.
Click 'OK' to close the dialogue box and confirm the new setting.

SH, I always loved the Saturday morning cartoons and I still love the old ones. Gosh! Speedy was one of my most favorite of all of them. I love that andale, andale, arriba, arriba! He sure did frustrate el gato! hehe Not only was it fun doing this poem, this was a background I most definitely enjoyed making. You brought me some wonderful memories and I thank you for hosting this awesome contest. You inspired me with that stained glass image of Tweety that you have and I hope you will use some of the backgrounds I have now started to make. Thank you for the best wishes. I think I will have some cheese now.
