Suckled at breast,
such blissfulness;
my sweet baby boy.
Water to wine,
miraculous sign;
streams of grace flowed.
Heart burned with fire,
love and desire
for Son's living Word.
Love crucified,
heart broke as he died;
kissed thorn pierced brow.
Rose from the grave,
humankind saved,
soul danced with joy.
Child I adored
now is my Lord;
paradise restored.
such blissfulness;
my sweet baby boy.
Water to wine,
miraculous sign;
streams of grace flowed.
Heart burned with fire,
love and desire
for Son's living Word.
Love crucified,
heart broke as he died;
kissed thorn pierced brow.
Rose from the grave,
humankind saved,
soul danced with joy.
Child I adored
now is my Lord;
paradise restored.

Having Dewey has brought me a little closer to what Mary must have felt as she snuggled Jesus close everyday & watched Him grow into the fine man (& Savior) He became. While I'm only 1 year into that particular venture, I feel as if my heart will burst if even a single drop more of love were added - yet I love him more with each passing second & my heart is still intact.
Thank you for writing this, Mom!

Excellent write here
Such love if learned by all peace could reign upon this earth

Sorry... I cannot read this properly... My poor sight rea1ly needs black typing on a plain white (or at the worst very pale pastel) background. However, I congratulate you on your win.

wonderfully done in the voice of the Blessed Mother, and a poem that any mother who has nursed a baby can relate to. Best to you in the contest and for the Holiday season.

beautiful spiritual write. Soon the day will be here when most will be thinking about this...unlike the day of his birth it is really the day of his death that makes life possible for all of us. Nice reminder

I love the way you wrote from Mary's point of view. This is a tender and moving piece with insights into the mind of a mother and worshipper.
