She kisses him good-bye
and watches him board the plane.
She wants to hide her eyes,
hide the tears and the pain.
But she can't look away,
has to see his every move,
now every second that passes
is a memory they lose.
She knows it's his job,
and that he has to leave,
but she still feels robbed
of time and memories.
She watches as the plane takes flight
and turns around to go,
it's the story of an Army Wife,
with only his dog tags to show.
They show how strong she is
to sit alone and wait,
and that when he comes home,
she'll be there for him, waiting at the gate.
and watches him board the plane.
She wants to hide her eyes,
hide the tears and the pain.
But she can't look away,
has to see his every move,
now every second that passes
is a memory they lose.
She knows it's his job,
and that he has to leave,
but she still feels robbed
of time and memories.
She watches as the plane takes flight
and turns around to go,
it's the story of an Army Wife,
with only his dog tags to show.
They show how strong she is
to sit alone and wait,
and that when he comes home,
she'll be there for him, waiting at the gate.

"now every second that passes
is a memory they lose."
How perfectly you summed that up, and, how hard it must be to accept! You wrote this one wonderfully; congrats on the trophy, it deserved it!

I like this one, it's good to know what a woman feels in this situation. Perfectly described, and best of luck in your husbands deployment.
God Bless,
Silvos.

I often get weird looks when i walk around in public with his dogtags around my neck. this is so sweet. I just found out that i have to leace him at the airport two days before he deploys. I know that it is going to be so hard for me to let him go. they may have to get airport security to take me away or pull me from his arms.
