what is man ?

What is man,that thou art mindful of him?
some guy in the bible had asked.
I don't recall if he ever got an answer.

When I look at mankind I see that he is in
great pain. He is suffering.
He doesn't know why and he imagines answers.
God did it, Satan did it, he did it, she did it.
They did it.

When I look at a planet I see a miraculously
well balanced machine that is alive and self sustaining.
It meets an occasional cataclysm every now and then
But always it rebalances and survives.
It restores its natural vitality and again flourishes,
with life, for life, nourishing it and growing it
wildly into new and more amazing forms.
It is magick. Perhaps earth really is a goddess.

What a piece of work is man?
Hamlet asked and answered ,his answer is in my
opinion wrong.
Mankind is not a thing to be admired
His form and movements are not angelic
and his apprehension seems to be missing
mankind does what it wants ,it takes what it wants.
It destroys without apology,its vanity is
unmatched and never satisfied or vanquished.

Is man evil?
No,I don't think so.
Is man good?
No,I don't think so.

Currently he calls himself a consumer.
he is lord of the world in his mind,
such imagination he has.
He has admitted that he is a locust.
Even his newborns are not immune to the claim
they grow to become the same.

Locusts have invaded the world
and even if I am one of them is it wrong
to seek their undoing?
to hope they meet some unsurvivable demise?
what if our highest thought was to seek our own end?
what if our end is the highest good?
Is that so terrible?
we cannot be sustained our appetite precludes it.
All we have is pain to look forward to.
Isn't nothingness better?
