Look…. up in the sky…
It’s a bird …it’s a plane…
Maybe not really… a superman…
But a hero…all the same…
Somebody’s gonna need somethin….
That only he can give…
His time and energy needed…
In places where everyone lives…
Any attempt to be normal…
Is shocking ..and scary at best..
It’s expected that he’ll have the answers…
His purpose…beyond all the rest…
His strength is reportedly endless…
His abilities trusted…by all…
He’s shown more than once.. he’s a winner…
It’s never a thought he might fall…
His moment of panic well hidden…
He’s sure no one near him suspects…
There’s a moment of sheer indecision…
Followed up by a few of regret…
Suppose just this once he waits longer…
Before coming forward to bat…
To see all the others be heroes..
While waiting to see where he’s at…
If he does will they all leave him.. forever…
Disappointed he didn’t stand tall…
Will they all shake their heads and their fingers..
When they finally see superman fall….

yet another great write, a very peculiar piece, I don't think any of us ever thought of the idea of superman falling from greatness. for me this expose that everybody no matter how great will fall at one time. very thought provoking. keep it up bro.

This is really good, the flow was (only slightly) off in a couple of lines but mostly it was good. This is a nice idea, a different one from the others in this contest - you make a good point. People tend to be fickle and take what they have for granted...when it doesn't show up they get angry and then resentful...thanks for the great entry, good luck and take care x

well.....i decided to read even thou i have to go. LOL. because superman is my favorite and i wanted to see what you had to say about him. and let me just say that i was loving this UNTIL The end. LOL it was a fantastic write. I loved it! good luck in that contest
