The Spirit of Haiku?


night owl's ghostly flight,
silhouette against the moon,
blue shadow of death.

metamorphic form
trapped in silver net of time
awaits spirit wings.

~ ~ ~

burning autumn leaves,
writhing phantoms of summer
drift in frost smoked air.

~ ~ ~

frosted snow glistens,
bejewelled in faint moonlight,
misted reflections.

~ ~ ~

a solitary
blue whale singing - gigantic
amplification

~ ~ ~

heavy breasted sky
weighing down worn velvet hills -
lakeside reflections.

~ ~ ~

drab brown little bird
with a song of rainbow hues -
magical Dunnock.

~ ~ ~

frozen little bird,
frost etchings on window pane,
autumn retreating.
