How Much Longer?

How much longer must I wait

for my moment of glory?

How much longer must I hold

on to dreams that are fading?

How much longer can I stay

the way I am, the way I've been?

How much longer must I love

before my love is returned?

I would wait forever

to find my soul

I would wait forever

to find my future

I shouldn't have to wait forever

to find the love that I am giving.

But I would wait forever

just to see if it would be

worth the wait.

How much longer can I cry?

These tears I've been crying for hours on end.

How much longer will I write

and put my heart on paper?

This means the world to me. I would really love to know what's going through your mind

To be perfectly honest, I signed on with a poem in mind and the title of yours sounded like it would further inspire me. It did just that. But now my problem is I want to write a bunch of different things, as opposed to my first concise idea, because of your train of thought portrayed in this poem. I really liked it, and hope I'll figure something out that's halfway decent. :]

A very strong message, and the lay out of each individual thought, not only adds impact, but impresses part of your psyche into the readers consciousness. A truly profound write, thank you so much for sharing. Sending prayers and hugs across the miles for you.

This is nicely said and ingenuously written. Waiting is a noble art and it's wisdom. At least the canvas and the paper are there as support. My husband is the best so i don't share your emotions but i will pray for you..

O.k..I absolutely love this!! I know where these feelings lie, I have felt them most of my life.
This is your heart, and it's wonderful to want these things!! Not a bit of self loathing, which frankly, is nice to not have to comment on. Creating art doesn't need to be specifically defined, and usually, the artist is often far more critical of themselves than others. Keep writing like this, you'll get to wherever you are trying to get to. Don't rush it, cause then it won't be nearly as satisfying as if you'd taken your time.
As far as the poem goes, I wouldn't change a thing. Not a word, a thought, a line, or an emotion.
Good luck, and all my best,
    Jin

    Thoughtful

You know I'm sure this is what a lot of people feel. I mean I know I feel that way...especially about my writing. I want know how long it will be before someone sees it as good or I realize that its crap. And especially with high school ending this year. I don't know what to think or to expect and this is well sort of what's been going on in my head the last few weeks and months.

But this is a very good piece, it works and its something a lot of people can relate to.

however long it takes... sometimes that is the hardest part for me but if i do not give up five minutes before the miracle then the work will be worth the effort and the payoff will be fantastic. thank you for sharing your heart with me. viyanna rosemarie
