On a choir trip,
three friends and I stayed in a hotel room together.
One morning a loud *beep**beep**beep*
pierced the quiet, while our heads on pillows of feather.
My friend by the alarm clock
hit the snooze button,
after she figured out it wouldn't work,
she picked it up and called it rotten.
"It's not the alarm clock."
she angrily said;
I tried to guess what it could be,
I leaned over the bed.
In my confused state of mind I asked:
"Is it my Bible case?
Is it my earrings?"
I put my hand to my face.
"Is it the lamp?
...The Lamp?!"
I thought,
"How would a beeping noise come from a lamp?"
"It's the fire alarm,"
my friend groaned.
We volunteered her to call the front desk
as she moaned.
"Somethings going off in our room," she said,
"I think it's the fire alarm."
"We'll be right up,
I hope it hasn't brought your sleep harm."
He came and took the faulty fire alarm away,
we did not have enough time to be able to go back to sleep,
we tried calling our chaperones,
but there was not a peep.
Lines from room to room
do not open until mid-morning.
We had to tell alot of people our story,
and not one found it boring.
Their favorite part
was when I was so tired,
I thought the lamp
was badly wired.

oh gosh!
i've been sleepy like that before...wandering around the
room..where in the world is this sound coming from?
i guess the batteries when they're low will beep like
crickets too...just a caution incase you think your
lamp is talking to you again!
