Spirit Of Black Panther

Missing image

My heart pounds wildly
while waves of worry rise
within the silent spaciousness
of my contemplating spirit

Black Panther’s penetrating presence
scrutinizes the bottomless depths of
my shivering soul
pulling my panicking senses
inwards

to a place where
petrifying phantoms of fear
mercilessly haunt
my spirit’s holy shrine

Drowned in the
putrid pool of melancholy
I refuse to face
the morbid masks of
past’s grinning ghosts

Panther’s piercing eyes
penetrate the vertiginous darkness
of my mysterious mind-jungle
overgrowing with
the deadly creepers of negativity

echoing the eerie song of ego
imprisoned by the spinning spiral
of illusion

Breaking the wanton wheel of karma
Black Panther bestows
precious present of prophecy

And while
substance-less thought-waves
voluntarily vanish into void

detached visions
of future potentialities
free from
past’s reincarnating projections
appear on the
immaculate screen
of my

ever radiant mind

    Hello Maa.

This is a great write. An amalgamation of many things. Wisdom, knowledge coupled to metaphors, topped with metaphysical insight, within the spiritual significance of the animal, as spirit guide and totem, all very descriptive. I did have to do a background check on this stuff though, ahhaha, so obviously my knowledge on this is nowhere near yours. Your work deals with the chains that humans have round them from so long ago, little realizing they are the ones actually holding them at both ends, as well as negativity, fear, ego, karma, excellent write Maa. You also touch on the fractal holographic universe, “spinning spiral of illusion”.
A good write Maa, I wish you well on your journey.

    My regards.

As soon as I saw the title I felt compelled to read this piece, and its contents made me glad to do so! Your words are beautiful, the subject majestic, and the entire concoction very powerful. A lot of elements make this poem the work of art it is, my favorites being the second, fifth, and seventh stanzas.

This speaks so well of the courage and inner strength bestowed by this totem. To face those things that dwell inside, haunting is probably the hardest task in life. And here, you take the reader on this journey bringing them out on the other side. A very uplifting read. So glad you shared this one! Blue

PS-I note a couple of words that you
might want to take another look at:
    'overgrowing' to overgrown??
    'Drowned" to drowning??
I just seemed to replace these as I
read to make the tense work for me.
    Thank-you for considering...

    Awesome

This piece really draws the reader into the inner meaning of what lies between the lines, and ofcourse within the words themselves. I can appreciate such art work you weave together, and you did a wonderful job here with your imagery, word use, and metaphors. Thanks so much for sharing, much love, and respect! Peace, Timothy aka poeticweaver~

Beautiful transformation. Like the dawn slowly driving away the stalking shadows of the night to the radiance of brilliant sunshine. Skillful work.

Your black panther is 'my impartial Soul' who goes around deep inside to find out the mind, its passage through difficult phases to ultimately reach and see the day of light. A beautiful poetic expression has come through out your wonderful poem.

    deep into the pshyche

A journey into ones pshyche , a darkness looms
where one keeps away on the fringes of negative thougths that looms ..a.metaphorical journey into

This is an interesting and quite educational piece with wonderful verbiage choices. My Spirit-Guide is Pegasus, so I understand animal totems and medicine cards. I enjoyed reading this very much sister mine. I shall be back with a rubric grade for this piece before contest closes. Thank you for entering and good luck in the judging. Laura x
