Time for our adventure.
Everyone's in the car.
Jackie gets sick
before we get too far.
Back on the road,
all happy as can be.
Except for Jennifer,
who really has to pee.
Another unscheduled stop,
then on the road again.
Still not very far
from where we began.
The twins start to fight,
it quickly escalates.
Dad pulls to the side
and patiently waits.
Mom calmly settles things,
Dad pulls back out.
Then, "Oh, no!no!no!"
Jessie cries, with a shout.
"I've forgotten a cd, dad
and it's the only one,
I really wanted to listen to,
while we were gone."
As Dad turns the car around
he says to us all.
"Forget about a vacation,
we can't even make it to the mall!"

Thank you for the reality of a trip anywhere. My pet peeve on any lengthy trip was the most common. Are we almost there and he's touching me. wonderful experience that I'll hopefully always remember. Thank you for entering a well written poem into my contest. I like the form and rhyme. Best wishes and good luck.

Great! :D
I soo recognize this from when I was younger and we were three sisters, crammed on the backseat of the car!
Very well written, very funny too. I love it!
"Dad pulls to the side
and patiently waits."
