There is no wrong or right

You say abortion is murder, but that is not always the truth

I had had two children, A third was on its way
I never believed in an abortion until that day
You see the doctor told me, I would die if I had another
Where would the first two be, with out me there mother
I was told  that day, my kidneys were failing me
I loved this child inside, but the other two it had to be
I was devastated, I wanted this child to
But no one in this world could understand the pain I went through
It was not the childs fault, true , I give you that
But my health was deteriating, that was a fact
Well not everyone has choices, Mine so hard
But I had two children already, who out weighed by far
so I agree with some issues but abortion is a choice
people have the right to choose their rights they can voice.
You are 16 and you have support you say
I had to live with this choice I made every single day.............

So often women are faced with a "choice" that is really no choice at all. What people fail to understand is that an abortion is not over when the procedure is done...these women live day in and day out with their choice for the rest of their lives. It is so easy for another to judge and say " any abortion is wrong' but they have not lived in your shoes. My heart goes out to you for this decision that you were forced to make and the grief for this lost child that still lives within your heart. Applauds to you for being able to voice this and share with others who may have had to make similar choices.

Won't DQ....I'm not sure if you are saying that the poem isn't true or if you are saying that abortion is not murder...well, either way, in my contest it is not required that the poem be true AND it is not required that you think abortion is murder...anyway, you bring up an important point in the abortion debate.

I don't know how heavy-handed to be with critique with that, because you may be sharing heart felt emotion, and that is hard to judge, but I would like to see a little less clumsiness in some of the lines-
"people have the right to choose, their rights they can voice." could benefit by at least a comma.

Thank you for your entry. It's good to get poems from a variety of perspectives.

This was a very well written piece. I personally believe that abortion is murder, except for the circumstances that you were under. I do believe that it is the ONE exception. However, I cannot say for sure if I would actually go through with it... since I have never had that decision. But I think even if I was told my life was in danger, I could go through with an abortion. I am just too... weird I guess you could say. But I really don't think I could do it. Wonderful write.

I know, we spoke about this. This is one of the only ways I can see abortion as a choice, because you truly had no option in the first place. I consider this as a miscarriage, as I have already told you. I'm deeply sorry for your loss, and thank you for sharing this!
