Playing in the sun with the wind at my back,
Running down the field with a ball between my feet.
Sleeping late when I have a fever,
Waking up early to watch cartoons.
The good and the bad is part of growing up,
But one thing I would never change is my family.
Although at times we argue and scream;
I love them and they love me.
I wouldn't change that for anything in the world;
Despite it all I love my life and I love my mother too.
Walking in the park getting ice cream from a truck;
Watching seagulls eat some bread; looking at the ducks in a row.
Life is good with them by my side, my gammy, my mommy, and me;
I love it all and I love them too, life is good for me.
Playing games on a rainy day, I like checkers and even Kung Fu;
I like it all when they're near, because I feel safe and not alone.
But if I could change one thing I would probably change my bed time,
But alas for now I must go to bed for its past my time.
"I'm not tired," I say, with a yawn, but soon enough I'm in bed;
Mommy reads me a story and half way through I am asleep.
Dreaming of ways to defeat the evil three-headed monster,
And how to save the Kingdom and the Princess too.
Author notes
Life is worth living because of the experiences we make and have, live life like a child and soon enough you will find that it isn't whether or not you live, but whether or not you live for fun.

This is just a great poem. I like how you made it two lines at a time so it is not all bunched together.
I think this young feller is going to really like this.
