Closing my eyes I still see the sky
The dark blue, burning, with white fires
Clothes, wet like the grass underneath
Summer rain has cleansed my world and soul
Open my eyes as the memories come
Like the shooting stars of another life
Not my concern while I'm underneath
Libertine of moonlight, as I long to be
Open my mouth and taste nature's breath
She is the lover who'll never ask why
Cries of her children echo through mist
And I am one of them, kept safe in the dark
Can you taste the night?
It's right there...
If you breath...
With the stars...
Author notes
Took Option 3) "In the country watching the sky at night, any time of year"
I hope that the grammar is right... English is not my mother language.
