Breaking with each breath of wind
As the writing increases on my heart
Each words holding different meaning
Shadows falling instead of tears
As snakes slither across the sun
Blinding the light and bringing forth
The comforting darkness
Fire spiraling through the beautiful forests
As they screech in protest and weaken
As their scratchy bark turns the darkest shade of grey
Till it not longer exists
The beautiful horse screaming in fear
As they're marched up the long line
Where we slaughter them for no need
And watch their beautiful blood spill onto the floor
Holding on to what I can
Everything around me is breaking
Rainbows no longer exist
Now I know all they are is light reflected
Searching for a purpose
Yet not finding a single one
Holding on to the edge of the cliff
As everything else around me flies off
And becomes only particles of dust
All they are is memories
No longer part of this world
Just pieces of dust floating on the wind
No one will ever notice them
The ashes of trees, the slithering of snakes as darkness comes
The desperate cry of horse as they lie dead
Ashamed of this society's thousand imperfections
I hold onto the edge and close my eyes
As everything else around me flies away

Oh my Godddd.
First entry read the rules!
I am so happy.
Really.
I thought I was going to have to repeat them. Well, I might have to I guess. To other people in the future...
Anyways! Back to the review, I really liked this poem. It was very, I don't know, haunting, I guess. Yeah. And the use of animals in this poem made it weirder somehow.
Thanks for entering.
