kiss-cut

snow algae bloomed;

pale bruises whispered to the horizon,
obscuring the sun
behind tailor-made white rabbits

autumn
leaked through the heavens,
treetops recoiled & shed their skins
in a torrent of russet rain

she lay,
finding her fate in the sky,
ignoring kiss-cuts he left in her heart

& the tearstains made with indelible inks
that never fade away.
