Thanks to the genes of my family
An alcoholic, life was me
Early death was on its way
I discovered A.A.
Poison controlled me
Then I found Thee
Almighty
Just for
Me
An alcoholic, life was me
Early death was on its way
I discovered A.A.
Poison controlled me
Then I found Thee
Almighty
Just for
Me

I have a tic in my left pinky
Makes me want to hit apostrophe
So if you believe that,we can be
Oh, such good friends; you`re understanding,
Reliable, righteous and pretty.
Right on the money, razor sharp wit,
Your contests feed my mind quite a bit.

Perfect syllable count! The only technical glitch is that "it's" should be "its". I really think it's awesome that you're able to face your past holding your head high, knowing that with God's help you've claimed a victory over it, even if it is a day by day thing. He requires no more from us, than that we simply trust Him to lead us where to put our next step. Thanks so much for entering my contest!
