Bittersweet Perfection

My heart lay open to you, like a guest book of sorrow
and you wrote your name across it in permanant ink.
You claimed me as yours and I willingly accepted
and told you stories of my past that no one knew.

I gave you the fine golden key that unlocked
so many secrets that no one could understand
and with said key, you unlocked the crystal case
in which your name was once etched.

Now you've broke the seem of this fragile heart
as the blood rushes over stitch upon stitch;
pure disgust and vile hatred run through this darkened corpse
as I fell victim to your game one last time.

Enough with this false liquid courage, I'm fed up.
No more of your games and no more of your lies;
you were the voice in my head, driving me to this
and now, you have got your sadistic wish.

Shards of glass blanket the ground; mirror left in ruin -
a broken reflection of the person I once was;
the horrid reflection of what you drove me to -
a loveless Valentine crying tears of rum.

Carving and digging the vein from my wrist;
a suicide as you mentioned you would have -
razor sharp scissors sheer with a simple cut;
bittersweet perfection.

An assisted suicide fit for Gods, as you would say,
guided by the hand of damned souls.
May you know now that this petty life ended
because of the torture you forced it to endure.

I hope you're happy.

    Great attention getter in the opening:

    My heart lay open to you, like a guest book of sorrow
    and you wrote your name across it in permanant ink.

    This is beautiful and I know exactly what you mean by this. This was sad, touching, and very deep. Very nicely done.
