Gaia (Second Version)

Earth, my mother Earth
Why do they wound you so?

Peaceful habitats
Within the land

Scarred by greed,
Trees felled, wildlife runs

Food chains disrupted
Frost covers the land

Not even angels can leash
The avaricious grasp of man

bravo! Kahlil is very inspiring isn"t he? in his light i applaud this outcry a deep truth it represents, as the great spirit of our mother is crying the sorrow of what could be, we should listen until the power of her love is opened within us, the passion of natural ways, speeds of living life that would grow like the plants and animals that are closest to her, and as the powerful moon eclipse passes by my way your write inspires a wonder in my meditation upon the peace our perception could bring... anyways and love thanks for sharing this, with golden apples -jas

Thanks for the comment and compliment. Aye, Kahlil Gibran, is my all time favorite poet/philosopher. "The Prophet is his most famous book, however he wrote quite a few others as well. Here's a link for Kahlil Gibran:

You can actually read some of his works on line, click on the above link.
