Dream World

The lines on my face become rivers as the clouds in my eyes pour out their sweet sadness.

The stars in the sky fade one by one,

And eventually die in the giant black hole we call eternity.

My ears pop as we fly upwards together,

Breaking all boundaries,

Destroying all laws.

Together we are immortal.

Our hearts are forever encased together.

Too many stones have been thrown,

And our glass case is shattered,

Our hearts are cut open and dying.

They lay bleeding next to each other,

Saying their goodbyes and cursing all humanity.

My eyes roll back as I envision the beautiful irony,

The liars point and laugh.

My body moves in slow motion as I run,

I am forever running.

I run right in to reality.

The dream fades and the cold, harsh world takes over.

All the faces stare with the same empty eyes,

And the same empty minds.

My mind churns,

It seems like I'm the only one thinking,

The only one with questions.

There has to be more.

This can't be my life.

I close my eyes and envision my dream world,

The only safe place there is.

My mind retreats there,

As my body goes on without me.
