Eternal strokes

fluffy clouds of blue
kneeling softly on horizon's mist
streaked by dusty crimson mushroomed haze

soft glowing of isoscele
reaching shore of foaming miasma
heaving sighs of serenity at journey’s end

speck of flight feather
poised encased within entrapped ray
seeking refuge at end of day’s curtain

pictured glow of tranquillity
framed in mind through sight
upon eternal stroke of canvassed clothed heart

Author notes

Another South African sunset - could unfortunately not provide the photo. Hope that you will be able to see it through my words.

You cannot otherwise but paint ...

whenever you pass one of South Africa's splendid beaches at dusk or dawn. Wondrous to see you so inspired. I can but smile at your enthusiasm ... Children at serious play, we are ...

    Love
    Myra

Sure we are children of serious play - but take a look at the photo at my Sharepoetry page to see the picture [uncomplete].

What a beautiful interpretation of a sunset. You have done well to bring it to mind. "at end of day's curtain" I just love that line.

Thank you for your comment. Besides the beautiful sight, there in the midst of the sun's ray was a bird in flight. I marvel at the fact that there are some like you who take time to read another's poem. Frans.
