Borne aloft I know
The Way Elemental,
Learned by my kind in ages past,
Inherited shared memory,
Given, who knows when, how, or by whom?
I am propelled, compelled, to fly elsewhere
As seasons pass and mates are here and gone again,
Pushed on by cold and hunger
And the knowing.
There have been times of rapture,
Warmth and plenty
When the ties of earth brought welcome ease.
But mostly just the restlessness
That comes with being.

Soft but also vivid, almost spiritual point of view. Good chosen title with a lot of meanings.

and so the axis of time in all the world would reach you in the smiles you travel with, A journey of the souls that have missed you dearly finding you amaze and wonder in synchronicity ...

GOOD JOB
My first impression was you have lived another life as a bird! Good writing. You got me with "the knowing". Animals have it. If we get quiet enough we may have it to. I did feel an earthquake coming seconds before it came.
My favorite, if I have to pick a part, is:
There have been times of rapture,
Warmth and plenty
When the ties of earth brought welcome ease.
But mostly just the restlessness
That comes with being.
I think you've nailed this contest.

How great IS that line?
This was a very uplifting, peaceful piece.
I needed something just like this, with the imagery in mind of soaring, just 'cause I can.
Thank you for this lovely piece!
