The cursor clicks,
the poem unfolds,
the tease of the opening
our attention holds,
wanting to hear
the end of the story.
Each composition
in its full glory
speaks of the style
of its creator,
graphic layout,
style originator,
sensuous words,
colorful phrases,
plaintive query,
life's phases.
After gaining familiarity
with each person's distinctive style,
recognizing the brashness,
the subtlety or the guile,
my cursor clicks
and I "hear" the author's voice
with dramatic expression
reading my choice.
The work comes alive,
brimming with personality.
There's no replacing
true originality.
In a list
Words come alive when answered in kind.

And who is the guy in the photo? You are being very Yemish with that seeming non sequitur photo.

At the time of the posting my photobucket was still
overloaded with photo-duelling ammunition for the
Betty board as it existed then. Photo is of former
year of the sixth, Constantine Maroulis.
(And now we splash photos of 2008 Idol, David Cook,
who, actually, is quite intelligent!)

You are rare. I can count on one finger the folk here who actually read to read, who show interest in what they read...in the process. Yeah, rare indeed.
But that is the joy, at least when the poet has something to say. There is nothing (ok, there are but go with me here) more enjoyable than finding a writer who makes you think, or smile, or think, "I he/she nuts?" That engages you in his/her world. And it doesn't have to be some whirlwind epic, just a simple haiku can do it.
Yep, you are rare and folk who get your comments at the end of their poems are lucky. I am lucky...enough head swelling for one day, go write a poem about humility.

Well, that lifts my tired haze
and wakes me to the reality
of intelligent life on the planet.
I am forever thankful to Moony
(whom you now can identify) for
"dragging" me here, and for all
the interesting minds discovered,
particularly that morning I should
have already been snoozing when
"Biddy" wandered in and started
reading and commenting, and
then in tandem "Pegasus."
In transformaton to Keystone Theater,
the mystery was revealed---and I discovered
not just intelligent life, but excellence,
the epitome of quirkiness, strong writing,
and a mind like a library, aided by Wikipedia,
of course.
I'll take that head swelling and up you one, yourself!!!!

Well, I see all that in both of you, and raise you a Golden Ear of Corn and a Fancy Microphone. You both show such energy so easily, but your time given is well-noted and your conversation is of substance above the par. I feel twinges of gladness to have found this little AP island. So to the best Listeners and Commentaters, from us regular taters, a big hooray. You're A-OK.
And also, this little AP show kind of reminds me of the time Kramer started a talk show in his living room. Oh that Kramer --
(And now for a commercial break: Drink Moxie!)

I have a three-section pit, very comfy, an abstract
mural on the wall behind it. A start for the
AP island talk show? Of course, sponsored by Moxie. -

Yes, and we'll need lights and music. We can just turn on the computer.

Hah! Only low lights here---subtle atmosphere!

Thank you, Moony.
It is a pleasant feeling
to read and recognize,
by style, by message, by voice
each of our favorite writers.
With love to you,
