The Scent of Paper

She drew in a quick breath
And with it came the scent of paper.
Whenever this happened only one course of action
Came into her mind; to write,
About him.

So she started, and the pen
Moved back and forth, the ink
Sank into the lines and her memories
Began to stir; all
About him.

When she finished she solemnly
Reread what she had written, sad
Loops and letters that told tales
From the past and from her heart; every single one
About him.

Please tell me what you think

There's a hidden trace of sadness here. Its almost like even though she is compelled to write about him, she finds no pleasure in it. Well written, reminds me of, well.... me. Loving it

    sad loops...!

This is a lovely poem. I like your structure and your word choices are very clever. A melancholy ode to remembered love!
    Well done!
