I found my way
A way back into your arms
I read between the lines
Of a poem of your life
And spoke in whispered tones
Just to hear your words
That echoed through me
In rhythm and grace
Whenever you said my name
It sent me searching once again
For words more beautiful
I found my way back to you
I found my way
A way back into your arms
For words more beautiful
Than the poetry of your smile
While I count the beating of my heart
That whispers how much I love you
And while you sleep
I feel your eyes watching me
In dreams that linger
For words more beautiful
I found my way back to you
I found my way
A way back into your arms

I'm not a fan of repetition. I guess I should have put that in my contest qualifications. But other than that, nice job. Thanks for entering.

This has such a beautiful, dreamlike quality, made more so by the repetition. I liked the metaphors, you may want to add some variation, but it is wonderful as it is. Great write, and good luck in the contest!

wow. if poetry was what hallmark and ignorance has made it out to be than you'd be all set. this is almost a perfect model of the triteness that characterizes our society's conception of poetry because it's easy to understand: the meaning is just as stereotyped as its expression.
now maybe if we could take a stab at art........ -
aw, this is so...well...beautiful. Very fitting title I'd say. Goodluck in that contest.
-
Truely beatiful
You don't have to search for words anymore beautiful, for you yourself have written some beautiful ones. The imagery is nice and the repeating part made more sense each time. Great write...no, BEAUTIFUL write. -K8 -
so astute ...
there are some lyrics that need music and these would be high on my priority list! It is always a pleasure for me to read words that move the heart and any theme of love do just that. It is what makes the world go round, no doubt about it. Note that these kind of songs never grow old nor the thoughts that keep them alive! Very nice sharing! joy

beautifull
it is very true that you can never find the right words to tell someone how much you love them, and yet i feel you have done it in this poem, well done xxxxxx
