To Us All

Missing image

We came out of the night bearing hope;
wanting only to live in peace.
Willing to grant knowledge,
you have not even begun to dream.

But society sees it’s own disease
as you drive us back,
denouncing us,
we who have done you no harm.

Justifying blood drawn on differences;
lusting our woman while calling them whores;
cowards hiding in the daylight
while we survive the nights.

Diminishing back to the shadows,
we retain our hope
with the understanding
that the world belongs to us all!

    WOW

    Well you certainly wowed me. Excellent. Your last stanza truly pulled this piece together with a tight bundle. AND that background. Very powerful. You are such an artist. Well done. Top to bottom. ~Pamela
