Search for Paradise

Once there was an Angel who searched for paradise,
deep within the Heaven’s skies she wandered up and down.
Her Heavenly home, her wings, her holiness she’ll sacrifice,
for having everything… isn’t what it’s about.

Once there was an Angel who fell from Heaven’s skies,
who said she searched for paradise, and had defied the God.
She came upon her journey, a race of sin and lies,
and she met upon her journey, a race of the darkest worlds.

Once there was an Angel, who was tainted by taste of sin,
and sin was what she gained, in that world of Dark.
She thought she’d found her paradise in her darker twin,
but being drenched in sin… isn’t what it’s about.

Once there was an Angel, who left the depths of Hell
to find herself a paradise, where she’d be free.
“Fallen Angel,” said a voice, “only time will tell,
and when it tells, you will know you’ve found your paradise.”

Once there was an Angel, who heard the voice of God,
and she replied with fury where she should have not.
“Divine being,” she replied, “what you say is odd;
for you are the reason that I’m marked as Fallen One.”

Once there was an Angel, who said what she would,
against the mighty God of Light, she spat out her words.
“Do not forget,” yelled she, “that at your side I’ve always stood,
but when I wanted a small paradise, you have thrown me down.”

Once there was an Angel, who became an Angel Dark,
to rebel against the Heaven’s skies… to find a paradise.
She wears both the Heaven and Hell’s mark,
but being in war, bringing death… isn’t what it’s about.

Once there was an Angel, who was embraced by the Darkling Lord,
but not a moment did she forget about her paradise.
She ran from both Light and Dark; away her spirit soared,
but running from one’s troubles… isn’t what it’s about.

Once there was an Angel, who returned from high and low,
for she has decided to face whatever obstacles Life gave.
Then, “Do you see?” said the God, “Now you truly know;
that paradise lies within Life itself.”

Once there was an Angel, who found a place of rest,
and she called it paradise, knowing it was Life.
No longer a Fallen Angel, she lives now as Blessed,
for living Life to the fullest… that’s what it’s about.

The picture in the challenge kind of inspired me, I suppose.

A happy ending to a good poem.
