Pale shades of caring
at the bedside of love
sad moments in sharing
prayers ascending above.
The memories of living
moments spent with you.
Treasured in the giving
and in the taking too.
I am here, at your side
I'd heal you if I could.
by Father's wishes we abide
That is clearly understood.
But if prayers are heard,
and aching hearts count,
my tearfull eyes blurred
please take into account.

What a beautiful poem.

-
The poem perfectly re-creates the tone implied in its title--the connections of lilac and mourning generations old.
