I open my eyes
both stars have risen in the skies
shining their reddish light
on the land below
I take another step
closer to I don't know what yet
Something's been pulling at me
Leading me here in the cold
No footsteps before mine
have ever fallen in this snow
No eyes before mine
have seen what lies below
I run through trees of gold and green
The ice in the sky
keeps secret our hiding
A faded palace
rising in the morning stars
Fireflies in the shadows
silver dripping from the clouds
Saphire sunlight
covers the ground
My own inner light
the evening star
sunlight to sunlight
in the places between
Centaurs smile gravely and Nymphs roll their eyes
but they all are a part
of our little lives
We were and we will always be
Somewhere
in the places between

Wow, I like this. I enjoyed reading every line of it. Beautiful imagery. I tend to agree ( for the most part).

A lovely thought. I especially liked the last stanza, how we will always be somewhere inbetween.
Good luck in the contest,
