Ball Bearings

I wear your love on a chain
across my neck-

like a heart
that should be on my sleeve.

All the colour in my world
comes from that dull
rusty grey.

Periodically during the day,
I unclasp it-
not because I don't desire
to wear it any longer-

but because I wish
to feel a little nearer
to the spiritual.

Meditating upon exactly
a hundred and one
miniature
stainless steel rosaries

and whispering
a hundred and one
prayers to you.

I wind them tighter around my fingers-
leaving a hundred and one
tiny, temporary stigmata-

Counting a hundred and one
memories of you
and a hundred and one
hopes for us.

I adore and appreciate the depth and openess of your ability to write of your love,it is not the faux moon, june red roses but the pleasure and the pain, like the religious terminology and that you had a hundred and one prayers for the times I have read the number hundred in a poem I would be rich if had a dollar for each time,to add an extra one compounds the intensity, loved the stigmata, the wounds of separation revealed not of negation,if this is writers block I shall pray for writers block, the reader is able to feel the sincerity within these words, especially loved the grey adding colour to your life of the cross, symbolic of both a cross to bear but a cross to be proud of.Kudos.

Thank you so much again, Yvette- for your time and your compliments.
And I guess I just got lucky with the number, lmao- one hundred and one just happens to be the exact number of links on the chain; that's the only reason I used that number.

Lol, I want to know the 101 hopes you have for us.
I think you should make another list!!
So anyway, I really like this little tid-bit of poetry you leave for me to read. And I wish I could write like this.
    I love you.
