dirty angel
under my sheets
bathed in sins
doused in defeats
'tis not love
that makes her stay
but rather
knowledge
that the world
rips angel wings
and eats them
as a delicacy

powerful poem hitting a sad depth, sometime this world does leave alot to be desired, but some where out there is a better place within, excellent write.

I went back and looked at the picture and I am not sure if I would agree with that which your comment states "odd ways".
"deep ways" is what comes to mind first and it says so much between the lines. And it does not always have to be love, but maybe it is something that hust feels a bit safer than all of the other options out there. The last four lines clearly indicated that. Thanks for stopping by one of mine and congratulations for the H.M. This definitely spoke volumes,

So Great!!!
And you are the protector of such an angel - true to this nasty world and cuts to the quick!
Good Luck in the contest!
