She dances with her own rhythm
As a song plays in her mind.
Her tiny feet skip down the pathway
Toward what ever she will find.
There are none could be more happy
There are none could feel more bliss.
She is twelve and finally blooming
And she has just had her first kiss.
She marches gently to the music
She is too rapt to really hear
She nears the alter with gladness
Her wedding night grows near
There are none could be more joyous
There are none who feel more life
She has all she ever wanted
She has become her lover's wife
She sways quietly to the music
Of her first born's gentle coo
She holds him to her heart
Whispers "Truly I love you"
There are none could be more loved now
There are none could be more filled
She is enchanted with the vision
Of the life that she will build.
She wilts soft against her first born
As she hears the funeral song
That takes from her the beloved one
Who had treasured her so long
Today none are more broken
Today none are so sad
She will not think until tomorrow
Of the times and love they had
We watch her broken heart start to mend
While somewhere a band of cherubs cry
They watch the dancer attentively
Waiting for her tears to dry
Somewhere a choir sings hallelujah
Prompting the healing music to begin
For she is a dancer, no matter what
And she must dance again.

Dance to your heart's desire!

This was a wonderful love story from beginning to end. That kind of love is very rare and very hard to find. I wish I could and one day maybe I will but for now I plod along alone to the tune of "dancer" Thank you for sharing.

Very interesting - a good story to get into.

oh, how touching ... you guided us through such a variety of emotions and scenes of life in such a short time ... and there seems to be a message contained in your verse that reminds us that life is a dance and whatever happens, the show must go on ... (this might sound simplistic, but this is how I perceived it) ...
a message of encouragement and hope indeed, thank you so much,

maa
