Without

your presence on this dreadful earth
I am
nothing.

Without
Your energy, you-the undeniable force
I remain in a state of the undead.
A zombie, trudging through life
Without purpose, without meaning.
My blank eyes are glazed over with grief.
My hopeless body is numb to the core.

Without
Your boundless love
My homeless heart has become
A barren wasteland, empty and lifeless.
My soul is a frozen arctic
A glacial prison, frigid and unforgiving.

Without
The light you bestowed upon me
Darkness has swallowed me whole
My entirety is compiled of the shadows

That collect in the places where

You had once laid, walked, lived.

Without
Your companionship
The concepts of
Alone, abandoned, forsaken
Can not convey the ache, misery
That I feel every day.
My sorrow flows behind me
Like a black train
As the lonely moon follows me home.

Without
you

I don't have

anything.

William Greenway said that "images can convey the unsayable," so can you show me the ache? When you picture the misery, what do you see?

    Thanks for entering.

The last lines of a poem mean so much don't they. The lonely moon follows us all doesn't it... which also brings us together in a strange way.

I always enjoy reading a poem where I can really feel the emotions that are coming from the author, and this one did an astounding job at making me feel that without someone I'm incomplete. Great write.
Thanks for entering and good luck in the contest.

This si so sad, poet...to feel that life is meaningless, without the one true love...I know it hurts, and only you can say how you feel inside, but I wouldn't completely close the door to fate... Nicely written poem...I feel your pain...
