I took a walk across the desert
spent 40 days and 40 nights
guided by the stars
far from city lights
i came across a man
seemed a transient of this place
he asked for a drink of water
i gave him my last taste
in an instant he had changed
from rags to smooth silk robes
said he'd reward me for my kindness
ask and he shall bestow
filled with wonder and confusion
i replied in a humble tone
i wish for nothing but your friendship
and perhaps some water for the road

So Interesting
Makes you stop and think for sure. I liked it alot.
Thanks for writing it and making me stop and think!
I like the ending........you were content with the basics and he took the last of your water. Something so simple but yet profound.

This is just an awesome journey in words. I could just visulize this before my eyes! And of all you could have asked for, you wanted only the basics...I love that! Thanks for sharing!
