It was as swift as it was dark
It was brooding
Hunched against a wall and hugging my knees
I let them engulf me
Their water surrounded me
I bathed in its essence
Darker clouds softly gathered
I sat in the grayness
And waited for the day
My lips still tremble at the thought
Of those last days
We stood and waved
Watching as the rest disappeared into nothing
Nothing but the clouds
Beyond the sea, over the top
Into the heavens
My tears sang their own bitter melody
Was it simpler
Or was it grayer than life right now?
I understand nothing
It's gaping mouth
I understand nothing
The essence of nothing, it remains to be seen
Because I understand it
