(T)elling God and another human being all my faults and hidden secrets.
(H)is love and forgiveness all that really matters.
(E)ncouraged to pray every night, every day to be relieved from the bondage of self.
(C)hallenging myself to always become a better human through working God's will.
(O)nly praying for myself when it can help others.
(U)nconsciously knowing the right decisions to problems that used to baffle me.
(R)unning to God whenever problems arise, instead of Drugs or Alcohol.
(A)nd turning those same problems over to Him to handle in His way.
(G)rateful for the gift of sobriety and life I lead now.
(E)xpecting nothing but what God has willed for me, wanting for nothing.
(T)aking what is given me and making the best of all of it, and happily.
(O)wning up to all wrongs I have committed in the past, making amends where possible.
(C)onsidering others, lending a helping hand to all no matter what we think of them.
(H)aving a totally spiritual lifestyle now, as opposed to shutting God out.
(A)lways loving others as you would wish to be loved in return.
(N)ever being judgemental, always being open to new things and ideas.
(G)iving back to the program that has saved countless millions from this disease.
(E)njoying life now as I have never been able to do before.

A truely beautiful heart felt prayer to God
This is a truely heartfelt prayer to God. It is so sincere , and you have shown such humility and love before God and in his presence. You offer hope and encouragement to all who read this write. And I am sure that you also offer this hope and encouragement to all whom you meet. You have expressed your love for God and your fellow man superbly. Thank you for letting me accompany you on this part of your journey through life. It has been a pleasure to walk, and talk with you. I will call by again. Thankyou sincerely kind thoughts and Bravo! Bravo!

Take care of my buddy, eh?

I very much enjoyed your Serenity prayer .. such sincerity and total dependence on God. This is patterned so much after the way King David prayed. He depended on God for everything.. even his own breath. And thank you so much for applauding my triolet; you were so thoughtful. God bless you real good, ♥ Belle

-
Wow! I so applaud you for being brave and writing this!
I am also proud of you for making these descitions and staying strong.
I as many on the site that have read a few of my poems know i was addicted to drugs . I have been clean for 6 almost 7 yrs now !
So give yourself a hug and Thank The Lord above!
This was beautiful!

I stand with you my brother. I was a member of this fellowship first. It is the parent of all the rest. I now attend N.A. meetings because that fellowship serves me best. I feel every single line written in this poem, and am glad to know that there is someone here that can identify with my daily struggle. I have held serenity in my hand since June 1, 1996. I thank the God of my understanding for graciously accepting my surrender. I thought about getting that date tattooed on my shoulder but the best reminder that I am happy, joyous, and free is the look on my husband, and children's faces, their trust and being able to depend on me once again. Just for today is all any of us have.
"We recognized our spiritual growth when we are able to reach out and help others"

You've helped me with this wonderful acrostic!
Much Love & Many Blessings ♥

It is not easy in any way to stand before man and God and admit what you've done in your life. There are still those things that you wish you hadn't done, but they are in the past, and that's where they should say--except for the memory.
The ghosts of our past should be highly respected, and your honesty is refreshing. You seem to respect your ghosts very well by never revisiting them. This piece is very uplifting. Good for you, my friend. Hugs, Patricia

Wow!
I always say it takes Strength to admit faults and also takes Strength to share them with others so they learn and avoid similar road taken~but
empowerment through affirmation is like rocket fuel
Powerfully penned my Friend

Best wishes to You

well looking down i see peopl know little more about you then i. 3 years??A great achievement this indeed was a very descritptive detail on challenges and other means of coping. Been here i kn ow all about this. and also know how hard it is to battle it daily, but when we start walking the rightious life, we see the light, and steps become mastered.
Indeed i appreciate the person you are and the gift you are to many. May you continue to always allow him to lead you, carry your burdens, and heal your spirit, your health, your heart....only He can completely cleanse all.
Much love always,
Tory
