As the imprint of your hand
stung my cheek
I laughed, and swore,
it didn’t hurt
once again you
raised a hand,
it landed on my lips
without a smile,
I swore again,
you will never hurt me
with tortured eyes and
covered face,
you cried and cried
to my mistake
I realized then,
how much I loved you
and never meant,
to call you slut
now your
gone,
what still remains,
my wish to say;
I’m sorry~

yeah Mal it's hard to think when you're mad...this took me back to when my ex stabbed me in the forearm...I looked at her and said you can't hurt me anymore than you already have...secretly ..it hurt like hell...but on to your write...this is honest and compassionate at the same time. Just another case of timing, this is an excellent write and one reason you are here...the other...I likes ya..lol

how awesome a write..hoensty rubbed its dirty finger against me..and I remember who I forgave, too late. I have a phrasethat will haunt me all my days..it rolled so easily off my half-bitten tongue.

Yes, hurt has many forms and one of them is the "sorry" that remains unsaid - the silences hurt the most. This one made me think of the line from one of Elton John's songs (I think..)..."sorry seems to be the hardest word"... it is actually so very easy if one means it. But forgiveness is indeed so very freeing - it puts all the bad things (like ego) out of business. Liked the depth of this one...
