Precisely

Drag--
every
day (dragging)
Eyes cast in muck
(can't stop the rain). Cheer
up, leaden heart (in my boots)
Sometimes the sun does shine bright--
Chip off the old block (shoulders), Give
it some time, some hope. Not dead yet.

      Ah, thank you!

The 6th line has one syllable more than it should, and the 9th line has one less.

Your imagery is really good in describing that completely morose feeling as one trudges along, ending with a ray of sunshine---just enough to allow one to take a few more steps . . . and who knows? Maybe those are the ones that count! Thanks so much for entering my contest!
