Why do you dwell in your regrets?
Yesterday brings you so much grief
We ARE more than only what we've done
Is that beyond your belief?
Though it's hardly what we say
Because we are what we do
It's more than how we hurt
Regret's not all that's true
Because we're more than just that
What we mean matters some
It's true--we've made mistakes
But there's more road to come
It can't be taken back
No matter how much you want
So tell the devil that you've learned
Or leave your heart for him to haunt
For Yesterday is over;
It won't occur again
So watch where you are going
Don't get stuck in where you've been
I know it's not easy to forget
But there's always a way to forgive
So lay your burdens down:
Today's here for us to live

Such wisdom and truth you have written here. Dwelling on yesterday or stewing over tomorrow just wastes the precious "now". Grudges and old hurts will drag us down unless we either learn to forget or at least learn to to live with them. All humans make mistakes eh?

Very well done Katy

Isn't it strange how there are so many things we would change IF we could go back in our past? I know there are lots of things in my past that I wish I could change. Then again, if it hadn't have been for those past mistakes, my life today wouldn't have turned out how it has. I probably wouldn't have met my soul mate. That's why I have now come to accept that everything happens for a reason and the future is layed out before us. Where we take it is up to us

I love this write. It's all so true. I was just talking about forgivness and forgetting...it's easy to say I forgive you but so much harder to forget. Or forgive ourselves if it comes to that. Thank you for using my background; it looks nice
