Old memories are haunting me,
I can't let them go.
it's time I moved on,
letting the past go.
forgiving the person
who has hurt me the most,
realizing that everyone is human,
is harder than it looks.
I'd like to think that you
never meant me harm,
I'd like to think
in a perfect world,
you could just apologize.
But I know now I'll never hear
those words,
and I don't expect
that you'll feel sorry
for all the wrongs you've done
because your reality
is much different than mine.
You pretend perfection,
no mistakes made.
And I'll pick up the pieces
like I've always done,
knowing that if I confront you
you'll just turn it around.
so this time..
yeah this time.
I don't think I'll give you the chance
to make me into a monster
to ease your conscious.
